Guide for Authors

The Journal of Artificial Intelligence Applications and Data Science (JAIADS) welcomes original, high-quality research submissions. To ensure a seamless editorial workflow and rapid publication, prospective authors are strongly encouraged to thoroughly review these guidelines, adhere strictly to the formatting instructions, and utilize the official journal templates prior to submitting their manuscripts.

Manuscript Submission via Editorial Manager

The entire submission and peer-review process for JAIADS is managed securely through the Editorial Manager platform. We do not accept submissions via email.

Submission Portal: https://www.editorialmanager.com/jaiads

Submissions that do not conform to the specified templates or editorial requirements will be returned to the authors for further revision before undergoing peer review.

Templates and Services:

  • Official Manuscript Template: Download MS Word JAIADS Template
  • Proofreading: Authors may consider utilizing our professional proofreading services (available for a fee) to enhance the clarity and quality of their submissions prior to peer review. Please note that using this service does not guarantee acceptance.

Steps for Manuscript Submission and Publication

Submitted manuscripts must be entirely original. They must not have been previously published or be concurrently under consideration by any other journal (exceptions are made solely for brief abstracts or summaries previously presented at conferences).

The online submission process follows these steps:

  1. Account Creation: Authors must register and create an account on the Editorial Manager platform.
  2. Registration Acknowledgment: Upon successful submission of the manuscript and completion of all online forms, authors will receive an automated confirmation email.
  3. Copyright Agreement: Authors are required to electronically sign and submit the JAIADS open-access copyright agreement.
  4. Manuscript Upload: Upload the manuscript files (main text, figures, tables, and supplementary materials) through the system.
  5. Initial Screening: The editorial team conducts an initial evaluation to check for formatting compliance and strictly screens for plagiarism using similarity-detection software.
  6. Peer Review: Manuscripts passing the initial screening are forwarded to a minimum of three independent, expert reviewers for single-blind peer evaluation.
  7. Production Stage: Upon final acceptance, the manuscript is sent to the production department. Authors will be contacted by production staff to prepare the article.
  8. Early View Publication: Once final corrections are made, the article is published online as an "Early View" publication and assigned a permanent Digital Object Identifier (DOI).
  9. Final Issue Assignment: The definitive version is subsequently included in the appropriate quarterly issue with an assigned volume and issue number.

Note: To ensure transparency and the protection of personal data, the names, affiliations, and contact details of all authors must be clearly indicated at all stages.

Preparing Your Submission

Language Requirements:

Manuscripts must be written in clear, grammatically correct English. Submissions failing to meet acceptable language standards will not proceed to peer review. We strongly encourage non-native speakers to have their manuscripts reviewed by a language expert.

Permissions and Copyright:

Authors must properly cite all materials used from external sources. It is the corresponding author's responsibility to obtain written permission for the reproduction of any previously published material (e.g., figures, datasets) not covered under a reuse license. When referencing unpublished work, written approval from the cited author is required.

Disclosures and Ethics:

  • Conflicts of Interest (COI): All authors must explicitly disclose any financial, personal, or institutional relationships that might bias their work. If no conflict exists, the manuscript must state: "The authors declare no conflicts of interest relevant to this work."
  • Ethical Responsibilities: All authors must share responsibility for the content, ensuring it is original, free from plagiarism, and ethically conducted.

Publication Process After Acceptance

  • Transfer to Production: Accepted articles are forwarded to the Production Office. The corresponding author will be contacted to coordinate final formatting and minor revisions.
  • Early View Publication: Because JAIADS publishes issues on a semi-annual basis, we offer an Early View option to mitigate delays. Once final modifications are complete, the article is assigned a DOI and published online immediately, ensuring early visibility and citability. For more information about DOIs, visit http://www.doi.org/faq.html.
