Allegations of Misconduct

The Journal of Artificial Intelligence Applications and Data Science (JAIADS) takes all allegations of scientific and publication misconduct with the utmost seriousness. We are committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards and will rigorously investigate any reported breaches of research integrity.

 

Scope of Misconduct

Misconduct includes, but is not limited to:

  • Data fabrication or falsification.
  • Plagiarism and self-plagiarism.
  • Inappropriate or ghost authorship.
  • Failure to disclose significant conflicts of interest.
  • Violation of research ethics (e.g., lack of IRB approval).
  • Manipulation of the peer review process.

 

Reporting Misconduct

Anyone who suspects misconduct in a manuscript submitted to or published by JAIADS is encouraged to report their concerns. Reports can be made by reviewers, authors, or third parties.

  • Concerns should be submitted in writing to the Editor-in-Chief at: [email protected].
  • Please provide as much specific detail and supporting evidence as possible to facilitate a thorough investigation.
  • JAIADS honors requests for anonymity from whistleblowers, provided the allegation is substantive and evidence-based.

 

Investigation Procedure

JAIADS follows the formal flowcharts and guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for handling allegations of misconduct.

  1. Initial Assessment: The Editor-in-Chief and the editorial board will perform an initial review of the allegation and the supporting evidence.
  2. Communication: If the allegation has merit, the editor will contact the accused party to allow them an opportunity to respond to the concerns.
  3. Formal Investigation: If the response is unsatisfactory, a formal investigation will be initiated. This may involve consulting the authors' affiliated institutions, funding bodies, or an independent ethics committee.
  4. Outcome: Based on the findings, the journal will take appropriate action, which may include:
    • Rejecting a pending manuscript.
    • Issuing a formal Correction or Expression of Concern.
    • Retracting the published article.
    • Imposing a temporary or permanent ban on future submissions from the involved authors.
